Die PACA, die Organisation der US Bildindustrie stellt jährlich eine aktualisierte Liste von Objekten zur Verfügung, die auf keinen Fall auf Fotos verwertet werden sollten. Die Gefahr einer Klage oder Abmahnung ist bei diesen Objekten auf jeden Fall gegeben. In den meisten Fällen sind diese Objekte selber oder bestimmte Designs (wie z.B. die nächtliche Beleuchtung des Eiffelturmes) geschützt. Bei einer Verwertung dieser Bilder macht man sich strafbar. Die Fotografie für private Zwecke ist jedoch zumeist unproblematisch.
