picturetom® is a brand of the journalist and management consultant Thomas Schmidt. The same name entitles his website for the areas Marketing, Media Asset Management, Images and Media. He picks up current trends, comments on market trends, discusses, questions and analyses the international picture market. picturetom® is Thomas Schmidt’s starting point of this SEARCHING FOR CLUES IN THE PICTURE JUNGLE and simultaneously also his experimental laboratory for designing and implementing creative solutions.
A creative mind
In the past, Thomas Schmidt was active in numerous different projects. Since 1980 he has been actively engaged in the subject of Digital Asset Management and took over contract work for Gruner and Jahr, the Spiegel as well as Axel-Springer and Holtzbrinck. From 1992 onwards he was a manager in various companies and was responsible for the areas of Marketing, Social Media Marketing, Digital Asset Management, imagery and media. In 2001 he started building up a photo agency for the main issues of medicine and science. He was the originator and creative mind behind medicalpicture GmbH as well as managing partner. Since 2009 he has been working again as a freelance management consultant.
